On July 15, a meeting with a delegation from the Greek company Desserta Hellas was held at the Baiterek Holding Company. Desserta Hellas CEO Athanasios Platanias, CEO of the Austrian Berglandmilch Group Josef Braunshofer, and CEO of the cheese company Doriki Nick Skanias participated in the meeting. The Holding Company was represented by Managing Directors Niyaz Koshkimbayev and Saken Olzhabayev, as well as representatives of the Agrarian Credit Corporation and KazAgroFinance.
The parties discussed the involvement of Desserta Hellas in the implementation of an investment project to localize the production of cheese and other dairy products in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the Holding discussed available instruments to support investment projects in the agro-industrial complex. The Holding's subsidiaries, Agrarian Credit Corporation and KazAgroFinance, provide loans to agricultural enterprises and lease machinery and equipment that can be used in the project.
"Kazakhstan is interested in ensuring the country's food security, as well as in attracting advanced technologies for the production and deep processing of milk. Desserta Hellas and Berglandmilch's experience in producing and exporting dairy products may be in demand on the Kazakhstani market, and the Holding is ready to offer the financial instruments of its subsidiaries to the project," noted Niyaz Koshkimbayev.
The parties agreed to organize a visit by Kazakhstani farmers and dairy producers to Austria and Greece to exchange experiences, and to continue to develop the parameters for implementing a potential investment project.
