From October 13 to 17, 2025, Yersain Khamitov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC, participated as part of the official delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington, D.C. and New York.
The events, chaired by Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, were aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s strategic cooperation with leading international financial institutions and investment companies.
As part of the visit program, a series of meetings were held with the leadership of the World Bank Group — including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), as well as with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), rating agencies, and major international financial, industrial, and investment organizations such as BlackRock, Société Générale, Honeywell, and Heeney Capital. The investment opportunities of the Holding were also presented at the Kazakhstan–U.S. business roundtable. The discussions focused on the participation of international institutions in the implementation of the national project “Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors” (MEKS), the development of public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms, and attracting investment into sustainable and “green” projects.
In addition, Yersain Khamitov took part in a high-level workshop organized by the IFC and the World Bank on PPPs, where participants discussed best international practices for structuring investment projects and their potential application in Kazakhstan.
During the meeting with DFC representatives, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for implementing joint investment initiatives aimed at supporting energy and infrastructure projects.
Special attention was given to cooperation with the World Bank Group, including the use of the Program for Results (PforR) mechanism in financing national infrastructure programs.
“Baiterek National Managing Holding continues to actively build partnerships with international financial institutions and organizations working in the field of sustainable development. During the meetings with representatives of the World Bank, IFC, MIGA, and DFC, we discussed specific areas of cooperation in infrastructure, energy, and innovation projects. Such events allow Kazakhstan to attract long-term investments and adopt advanced approaches to economic development,” noted Yersain Khamitov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC.
As part of the business program, the Kazakh delegation also visited Honeywell’s innovation center in Washington, D.C., where cutting-edge technological solutions in energy efficiency and “smart” infrastructure management systems were presented.
The final stage of the visit included a trip to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where the parties discussed the development prospects of Kazakhstan’s domestic capital market and tools to enhance the country’s investment attractiveness.
As a result of the visit, agreements were reached to continue joint work with international partners in the areas of green finance, infrastructure development, energy efficiency, and digitalization.
The visit became an important step in strengthening Baiterek National Managing Holding’s strategic partnership with global financial and technological organizations, which will enhance the effectiveness of national projects and sustainable development programs in Kazakhstan.
