Baiterek Holding has successfully optimized its structure. In 2019, it encompassed 14 subsidiaries (including the subsidiaries of KazAgro Holding). In 2021, their number was reduced to eight. This year, KazAgroFinance is also expected to merge into the Agrarian Credit Corporation.
Ruslan Iskakov, Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, told the Council about the progress in reforming the bank. Earlier, a seven-stage plan to reform the DBK was devised by order of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The reform provides for the DBK to focus on financing processed goods production in the upstream and midstream stages of processing. In addition, the DBK’s support tools are to become more accessible and the quality of its services is to be improved.
Also, Anuar Ushbaev has resigned from his post. Instead, Marlen Baimagambetov was elected a member of the Public Council.
Timur Nurtaev, a member of the Public Council and a director of a construction company, noted the meeting’s importance in discussing problems businessmen are facing.
In conclusion, Elena Tarasenko, Chairman of the Public Council, praised the Holding’s work. According to her, Council members are willing to spread awareness that the Holding is ready to finance businesses and provide people with affordable housing.
