The transition to a green and carbon-neutral economy is a strategic priority for the country.

The first-level document regulating the green transition of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which replaced the Concept for the Transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a Green Economy, is the Strategy for Achieving Carbon Neutrality of the Republic of Kazakhstan by 2060 (hereinafter – the Strategy), approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 2, 2023, No. 121.

In order to contribute to the implementation of the national low-carbon development agenda, the Holding, by the decision of the Management Board dated July 4, 2024 (Minutes No. 35/24), approved the Methodology for calculating greenhouse gas emissions (hereinafter – the Methodology), which establishes unified approaches to the identification, accounting, and verification of emission volumes, and also contributes to increasing the transparency of the Holding’s activities in the field of sustainable development and the achievement of strategic climate goals.
