Due to the nature of its activities, the Holding does not have a direct significant impact on the environment. The main resources consumed by the Holding are electricity, heat, and water.

The Holding applies principles and methods of rational resource use that best ensure the prevention of adverse environmental impacts.

In its operations, the Holding seeks to reduce excessive resource consumption and minimize existing negative environmental impacts through the introduction of energy-efficient technologies, reduction of water consumption, lower paper use for office needs by implementing an electronic document management system, and the practice of double-sided printing.

The Holding has approved the Green Office Concept, which defines the goals, objectives, and principles of a Green Office, as well as approaches to office greening and planned activities.

Goals of the Green Office Concept:

• reducing the negative impact of the Holding’s activities on the environment;
• raising employees’ environmental awareness;
• promoting rational resource use.

Principles of the Holding’s Green Office Concept are based on the 3R rules – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle:

• Reduce. According to this principle, a Green Office should aim to reduce the use of natural resources such as electricity, water, paper, and heat. This can be achieved both through modern technologies and equipment, as well as through organizational and awareness-raising measures.
• Reuse. This principle focuses on the use of consumables, including paper, stationery, and office equipment, made from recycled materials.
• Recycle. The main aspect of this principle is proper disposal of used raw materials: separating waste, recycling paper, and properly disposing of office equipment and batteries.

Awarded the Smart Plastic Zone Gold Mark

JSC ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding became a participant in the environmental project Smart Plastic Zone, receiving the highest distinction – the Gold Mark – for the implementation of sustainable practices aimed at reducing plastic use and promoting environmental awareness. The initiative is carried out with the support of Coca-Cola and the GreenUrban Association. Participation in the project confirmed the Holding’s high level of environmental responsibility.

Green Initiatives

On an annual basis, the Holding implements a number of activities within the framework of the Green Office Concept.

• In 2025, the Holding confirmed certification under ST RK ISO 14001-2016 (ISO 14001:2015) Environmental Management Systems.
• In 2024, 784.5 kg of waste paper was sent for recycling.
• In 2023, eco-friendly stationery pens were purchased.
• On the first floor of the business center, a collection box has been installed where employees can bring clothes and items for further transfer to charitable foundations and low-income families.
• A reverse vending machine for the collection of aluminum cans and plastic bottles has been installed.
• A collection box for animal feed has been set up for subsequent transfer to a shelter for homeless animals.

The Holding also continuously carries out awareness-raising activities, including:

• conducting training sessions on the Green Office topic for employees;
• organizing community clean-up days;
• sending out informational newsletters to raise environmental awareness among employees – such as Paperless Day, Car-Free Day, Energy Saving Day, and others.

On each floor of the Holding’s office, information boards on resource saving are displayed, and containers for separate waste collection are installed.

The Group’s business center was built using resource-efficient technologies. It is equipped with work, emergency, and maintenance lighting systems. Fluorescent lighting sources are used. The façade’s glass curtain walling allows for reduced electricity consumption. Additionally, motion sensors are installed in temporary-use areas to save energy.
