President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the signing ceremony of several pivotal agreements during the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai.
The following documents were signed in the presence of the President:
1. Intergovernmental agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates, outlining the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 1 GW.
2. Memorandum of Understanding among the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna, and the Ministry of Investment of the United Arab Emirates, focusing on the development of low-carbon energy with a cumulative capacity of 10 GW in Kazakhstan.
3. Memorandum of Understanding between Qazaqstan Investment Corporation and ADQ, establishing a strategic partnership.
4. Investment agreement involving the Government of Kazakhstan, Aktas Energy LLP, and TotalEnergies for the development and construction of a wind farm with a total capacity of 1 GW, incorporating a battery energy storage system with a capacity of 300/600 megawatts/hour. The wind farm will be constructed near the village of Mirny, Zhambyl region.
5. Agreement between Samruk-Kazyna and ACWA Power, jointly constructing wind power plants with a combined capacity of 1 GW, featuring an energy storage system.
6. Agreement between Samruk-Kazyna and Presight.AI, establishing a joint venture to undertake projects in the realms of digitalization and information technology.
7. Agreement for establishing a ship repair and shipbuilding enterprise in Kazakhstan, forged between KazMunayGas and AD Ports Group.
8. Agreement between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Abu Dhabi Ports Group, outlining the creation of a joint venture.
9. Memorandum of cooperation involving Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, SAFC LLP, and SEFE Marketing & Trading, focusing on the realization of forest climate projects.
10. Agreement between Kazatomprom and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, delineating the supply of natural uranium concentrates.
