‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding Returned Funds to the National Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ahead of Schedule

‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding JSC has repaid 23.5 billion tenge to the National Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan ahead of schedule.

The early fulfillment of obligations resulted from prudent financial management and confirms the Holding’s responsible approach to managing public funds. The repayment also reflects the effectiveness of the current financing model and the resilience of the Baiterek Group’s debt portfolio.

The funds attracted by the Holding from the National Fund in 2014 for a period of 20 years were allocated to the implementation of projects under the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015–2019. The financing was provided through a blended model: each 1 tenge from the National Fund was accompanied by 2 tenge raised from other sources.

The financing was carried out through the Holding’s subsidiary, Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, which ensured expert evaluation and transaction structuring. In total, 13 projects were financed in the manufacturing industry, transport, warehousing logistics, and electric power sectors, including the construction of a rail and beam plant, the establishment of a railway wheel production complex, the modernization of a mineral fertilizer plant, the implementation of infrastructure facilities, the gasification of settlements, and other significant initiatives.

The implementation of the financed projects delivered a substantial socio-economic impact. According to the Holding’s subsidiaries, between 2016 and 2024, total production output increased from 16.2 billion tenge to 390.9 billion tenge in 2024, while exports grew from 0.17 billion tenge to 99.5 billion tenge.
More than 2,500 jobs were created as part of the project implementation.

‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding will continue to fulfill its role as a key development institution, enhancing the effectiveness of state support instruments, attracting new investments, and ensuring the implementation of projects aimed at the structural modernization of the economy.
