On December 13, 2023, Baiterek National Managing Holding secured victory at the GREEN OFFICE AWARDS 2023, a prestigious accolade that acknowledges initiatives in establishing environmentally sustainable workspaces with minimal ecological impact.
The GREEN OFFICE AWARDS honors organizations that enhance the environmental performance of their office spaces. Baiterek Holding competed for the title of the "greenest office" against contenders from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Armenia, Russia, and other nations.
A panel of jurors evaluated participants based on various criteria, including water, heat, and energy efficiency, resource optimization, efficient organization of waste collection, accessibility for individuals with limited mobility, environmental education programs for employees, and more.
It is noteworthy that the holding's headquarters were designed with technologies that prioritize resource conservation. The facility incorporates emergency and repair lighting systems, fluorescent lighting sources with motion sensors, and glass facade that provides access to daylight. Moreover, water-saving systems, containers for separate waste collection, and boxes for clothing donations have been installed. The company’s employees participate in cleanup initiatives, environmental projects, and charitable endeavors.
Demonstrating a commitment to ESG principles, Baiterek Holding has been a recipient of similar awards in the past. In 2019, it won in the Green Office competition among government bodies and quasi-public sector. Additionally, it earned the first place in the Green Office Awards 2022. This year, the holding's subsidiary, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, also secured second place in the same competition.
