Education
In 1987, he graduated from the Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Domestic Trade.
Professional Experience
From 1991 to 1997, from 2001 to 2005, and from 2007 to 2015, he served as a Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
From 1997 to 1998, he served as Press Spokesman of the Polish People’s Party.
From 1999 to 2002, he served as President of the Management Board of the Mazovian Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
From 2005 to 2006, he worked as a strategic adviser at Zespół Doradców Gospodarczych TOR.
From 2006 to 2007, he served as a Mazovian regional council member.
From 2012 to 2015, he served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland.
From 1 March to 31 December 2016, he served as Adviser to the Management Board of ACTION S.A. on international affairs.
Since April 2016, he has been the owner of Consulting Janusz Piechociński.
Since July 2016, he has served as a member of the Management Board of the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
From 2017 to 2018, he served as Vice-President of the Management Board of Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Wzajemnych Medicum.
Since 2023, he has served as a member of the Management Board of the National Federation of Entrepreneurs and Employers.
From 15 November 2023 to 31 August 2025, he served as a university professor and Vice-Rector for International Relations at Łukaszewski University in Warsaw, Poland.
By the decision of the Sole Shareholder, pursuant to Order #160 of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 30 June 2026, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of Baiterek NIH JSC.
He does not own any shares in the Holding or any shares or ownership interests in legal entities that are suppliers or competitors of the Holding.
