On September 19, 2022, Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, took part in a meeting with representatives of flagship American financial institutions. The meeting was held during the official visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the United States.
The head of Baiterek Holding also attended the meetings of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with the leaders of JPMorgan Chase & Co, Franklin Templeton, and other financial companies. According to Kanat Sharlapayev, Baiterek Holding issued 47% of long-term loans to non-resource sectors of the economy in Kazakhstan. He expressed the intention to expand cooperation with American financial institutions, particularly in project financing.
During the meeting with Gustavo Grobocopatel, General Director of Grupo Los Grobo, Kanat Sharlapayev stated that the Holding is interested in cooperation with foreign investors and will consider proposals for financing projects in the agro-industrial complex. Baiterek Holding has extensive experience in supporting agricultural manufacturers and offers several loan programs to its clients.
During the visit, the Head of the Holding held a number of meetings with representatives of Blackstone Group, Portfolio Advisors LLC, Citigroup Inc., and JPMorgan's DFI. The parties discussed potential cooperation.
Following the meetings, Kanat Sharlapayev thanked his American colleagues for their interest in cooperation and active participation in the financial and economic development of Kazakhstan.
The meeting participants also discussed the possibilities of investment cooperation in such areas as the energy industry, transport and logistics, regional integration, healthcare, services, etc.
